Crazy Paving
This is one of my favorite additions to a garden, done correctly it gives an amazing feeling of a garden taking root in merging natural stone rising up from the ground, to walk on, to be admired. It gives strength and quality to gardens as stone walling does. There are many styles, but basically it is random pieces of slate put together in a jigsaw pattern forming the crazy style. We the creators have to find pieces that can be closely placed together without having to trim much from each stone. It can be laid with joints filled with a soft grass or ground cover or the more popular is it has cement joints, we prefer to take a little extra time and cut the mortar just below the slate to make the stone stand out more.
Stone walls
Stone Walls can be built in many forms, starting with traditional dry stone fencing, then we have at the other end which is on a concrete foundation and even with reo bars vertically placed to give added strength. And many types in-between to suit different applications or clients needs.
Some have mortar showing joints and others maybe dressed up to look like a dry stone wall but with some foundation and heavily mortared inside the wall to give added strength and the ability to withstand prying fingers and give a wall longevity in peoples gardens.
Dry stone walling normally doesn’t have any foundation maybe just a gravel base at most to allow possible movement. This is normally built with fieldstone but building spalls look very nice when this is achieved. Dry stone tend to be free standing walls and not so much for retaining walls but we can work miracles to achieve what our client really wants using over 40 years of experience,

Stone entrances can be built from any stone, some are preferred to be on a grand style, others more of just wanting to make a special feature and keep it simple. Pillars can be built on there own, or incorporated with walling. Even just old style (timeless) stone fencing can give your place that special effect.
